An Unknown Queen

Lupita Nyong'o , an upcoming actress who freely expresses that beauty truly comes from within and is showing the world today that one doesn't have to be liked often to be considered beautiful. She is an unknown Queen in my opinion and whether or not people realize her worth we all know that she always will.

She's no average super model like the ones in the magazines, She's a dark skinned beauty who views herself as a Queen, She's not made to fit in and be more like the world. She was born to stand out, make a difference & be bold about her decisions. She respects herself as the woman she is and doesn't dare to conform to what others want her to be. She's free, and in tune with her spirituality. Not caring what others may think to do or say. She's aware of the fact that she doesn't need many to feel like she is worthy and loved. Her gifts & talents sets her apart from many that she surrounds herself with. A Dark skinned, strong, intellectual, and beautiful spirited is nonetheless all that she accepts herself to be known as. Residing in a world that sees beauty as being one shade and one way until she comes along and makes everyone see that their perception of beauty is close minded and very wrong.

This poem was originally written by Me & it was not directed to be about Lupita Nyong'o. She is such an awesome example of realizing who she is & sticking to it. Which then reminded of such beauty that is carried in all of us despite the color of our skin, length of our hair, status of wealth, style of self expression,etc. We are all human and should be treated as such. It is amazing to see everyone come to recollection that the confidence of someone strictly comes from the way they carry themselves and all that they make known of what they have to offer.
